our brain and spinal cord meninges being inflamed
the meningeal membranes that protect our brain and spinal cord (meninges) being inflamed
our dura mater, arachnoid, and/or pia mater being inflamed
meningeal inflammation

having viral (aseptic) meningitis
our brain and spinal cord meninges being inflamed as a result of a viral infection
being at risk for getting infected with viral meningitis because we had at least one previous viralbased infection
being at risk for getting infected with bacterial meningitis because we had mumps, measles, herpes, paramyxovirus, enterovirus, and/or arbovirus (West Nile virus)
having clear cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) on our CSF analysis or lumbar puncture
having bacterial (septic) meningitis
